HELLO!

My name is Sarah Glemnitz. I am a graduating student of Crossmedia Design at the ArtEZ AKI, Academy of Fine Art & Design in Enschede, the Netherlands.

My profession at the moment is illustration, although I used to photograph for several years. I usually combine both media. I like it when my work effects people – whether it defines, inspires, provokes or amuses people, but I'm hunting especially for the amusement.

I am currently showing my work and development of the project I'm working on here on this blog, but you are also invited to have a look at my website sarahglemnitz.com

Theory Presentation

In the theoretical part of my studiy I worked on a timeline, to have an overview of different events, persons, inventions et cetera. My research enfolds the time between the 14th century and today. I spent many weeks researching, checking correct dates, collecting information, arranging the timeline.

During my research a circuit became clear. A circuit of many artists, matching a specific matter: Protest. So I went on with my research about this specific group of artists and designers and made a selection soon. This selection would be a small guidance to show how present Protest in art is, and that it has always been a permanent source of inspiration in the art (and later design) world.

So my final presentation had the matterof protest in art, having the focus on the four following artists; Francisco Goya, John Heartfield, Käthe Kollwitz and Ai WeiWei.

It was an interesting period of research for me, not knowing what my final result would be. I really enjoyed the process. I am also still thinking about a second way to present this matter. You will see the results on the blog.
